Especially in the evening??
Here are some tips that combat overeating and they have NOTHING to do with willpower but everything with practice of good habits!
- Practice a good sleep hygiene! Make sure to get enough quality sleep, you will feel less hungry throughout the day and more energised! Go to bed early and don’t stay up too late! You’re increasing your eating window and you WILL get hungry!
- Yea skipping breakfast is cool but don’t start snacking two hours later! Have your breakfast then! Having a consistent eating schedule ensures that you never go too hungry for too long! And you know exactly when the next meal is coming! Psychological 👍🏽
- Cut the snacking! Noticed you’ve probably never overeaten on potatoes, fish and veg 🤷🏼♀️ swap snacks for a sit down meal! A small salad, porridge or high protein sandwich are better choices! They keep you full until your next meal as well!
- Minimise trigger foods! If you have them in the house you’re guaranteed to eat them otherwise they wouldn’t be there 🤷🏼♀️ replace them with foods you won’t overeat on f.I. Fruits - yes this does work! Or buy portion controlled snacks! Once they’re gone THEY’RE GONE!
- Remember that night you stayed up til 1 to finish watching YOU when you ate a sharing bag of Maltesers and family bag of crisps - wouldn’t have happened if you went to bed at 10 🤷🏼♀️ try and avoid situations where you know overeating can easily occur or prepare for them!
